Basqueria is a way of life — a love story between Basque Country and Southern California. Thousands of miles apart, yet the two share a sense of identity: sun, sea, surf, living and eating outdoors. Good ingredients, simply prepared, and eaten right where they are grown. Basqueria was born from this union, this "way to be."

Sébastien's own story is the inspiration for Basqueria. He grew up on a farm in the Basque Country in southwest France, where the outdoors are everything and the best cooking happens when you're Mother Nature's sous chef. He developed his culinary style at Cocotte in Soho, Manhattan, then first introduced Basqueria through a chef's residency at the Michelin-starred Lord Stanley in San Francisco, and through private dinners across LA and Malibu.
A native of Flanders, Belgium, Sofie's journey from the fashion runways of Paris to the streets of New York led her to Basqueria. Her story intertwines with Sébastien's in Paris, where their shared love of culinary exploration blossomed. As Basqueria's creative director, Sofie's eye for design has shaped Casita Basqueria into a haven of sophistication nestled in the coastal beauty of Malibu.
